Dr. Cleveland completed his graduate studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 1978. He then opened his first traditional chiropractic practice in Long Beach, Mississippi. Within a decade, interest in his health care systems and standards had blossomed into the development of a chain of clinics along the Mississippi Gulf Coast which became, at one time, the state's largest chiropractic practice.
After nearly 25 years of experience helping people, he accepted the challenge of helping quadrupeds.
Dr. Cleveland studied the Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation, (VOM) instrument adjusting technique under its founder and developer, William L. Inman, BS, DVM, CVCP of Portland, Oregan - to become a Veterinary Chiropractitioner. Dr. Cleveland went on to complete the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association's manual adjusting technique under the direction of Bill Ormston, DVM at Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, Texas, and became certified in Animal Chiropractic by the AVCA. His advanced studies also include Equine Postural Rehabilitation methods and protocols as mentored by Judith Shoemaker, DVM and Karen Gellman, DVM, PhD, a graduate of Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine who earned her doctorate in equine locomotion biomechanics.
